Abstract :
 INTRODUCTION:
Pre-operative embolization of intracranial meningiomas offers potential advantages for safer and more effective surgery.
It has been used as option for adjunctive treatment of intracranial meningiomas for almost 4 decades.
OBJECTIVES
To understand the efficacy , technical considerations and complications associated with preoperative embolization of intracranial meningiomas.
METHODOLOGY
A retrospective study was conducted in 11 patients admitted to Intervention Radiology Department between January 2022 to October 2024.
INCLUSION AND EXCLUSION CRITERIAS:
Inclusion criteria: Patient who presented with spontaneous intracranial meningioma.
Exclusion criteria : Contraindication to procedures such as coagulopathy , infection , patient who is refusing to consent or lack of co-operation.
RESULTS:
Over a period of 2 year 10months , 11 patients were selected, Patients ( total number – 6) who underwent surgical resection following procedure – the risk of complications such as bleeding during surgery was lesser.
